A trip down to Pontlliw and the Glamorgan Arms took us to the venue of this year's District Quiz final. The two contestants, Maesteg and Milford Haven, had fought off other clubs to have the privilege of being put through their paces by our perennial question master for these finals, Ray. The evening started with pre-ordered food with superb fellowship. Bobby L even managed to sell me a Polio bumper sticker (he had spotted that I had a new car). The quiz commenced in good order with the Milford team striking an early lead through some dreadfully tough questions but in the second half Maesteg pulled back to within a couple of points at the end of the competition. A thoroughly enjoyable evening of fellowship and fun with a worthy winner at the end. Congratulations Milford Haven.
