29th April - Disabled Children's Gymnastics Final

One of the very special events that we front-up each year is the Disabled Children's Gymnastics Final, held this year at the National Sports Centre. This is the culmination of a number of heats run throughout Southern Wales and a good number of Schools turned up wearing their distinctive strips to perform a range of gymnastic moves commensurate with their abilities and disabilities. We had a junior and a senior competition starting at 1100hrs and running through to 1430hrs. Don had played his part and I presented prizes to the winners with every competitor receiving a medal. A number of Rotarians turned up to add their support and a good crowd of supporters was there. We even had athletics star Ewan Thomas and multi medal winner at the Paralympics, Ellie Simmonds MBE in the hall, being videoed for another event. A great day with some wonderful children doing their best. Congratulations to those who were involved in the organisation.
