24th February - More TfL in Schools
At lunchtime I went to meet up with the Swansea Valley club at a local Primary School where they were conducting another Purple Pinkie day. Each class came into to the hall to be greeted by a Shelterbox tent and four Rotarians in white coats and stethoscopes. The children sat in the tent to receive a reminder about Shelterbox and a quick overview of Polio eradication (they had already seen a video of the NID in India). Then they lined up to get their two drops of water, a lapel sticker, a purple pinkie (some done by me), a sweet and a certificate. Thereafter there were group pictures to finish off. An absolutely splendid experience ably led by President Geoff, who was a natural with the children.
