A short break in a sunnier climate!
m
Our trip to Croatia this year was designed to be a relaxing chill-out, with no long trips or bashing into the wind. It seemed that we all needed this to shake out some of the trials of the past few months. Matt's boat is based at Kremik, about 40 minutes by taxi north of Split. We set off North with the wind behind us but the forecast was for a strong north easterly, the Bora wind, so we headed up the fiord type inlet to Skradine for shelter. It blew a gale for three days, so we tucked ourselves away from the harshness of the wind and relaxed, took the bus to Sibernik and lazed about. The first picture shows a view from the castle in Sibernk looking out through the entrance of the fiord into the Adriatic and over the islands. The second shows how close you can park a boat to a bar. We were ordering from the cockpit of the boat. At this location we were the only visitors and is was so nice to be amongst the locals and watch them go about their daily lives. The third picture is a view up the fiord towards where we were tied up next to the bar. The fourth is dreamland or how the filthy rich waste their money, either way such a vessel is way off the radar for the like of me. The final picture is of Skradine at night with the church illuminated. A great few days of relaxation, good food and a little booze.
