After the Assembly we took some time to look around San Diego. The city scene shows Seaport Village with the twin towers of the conference hotel on the right hand side. Edwina had to dip her toes in the Pacific Ocean, on Coronado Island, which had a wonderful long beach with the famous El Coronado Hotel, featured in the film Some like it Hot, behind us. The sealion seems un-bothered by the no trespassing sign on the bait breeding pontoon and the rock pool beach is apparently one of the few such places where there is public access. The climate in south California is very mild with the variation betwen summer and winter temperatures being about 6 degrees, however they sometimes get a cold northerly wind that can be very deceptive. I got sunburnt on my nose and nut. Overall we had a great time with loads of memories to cherish.
