Ballot Count - Membership Chair
Today was the count of the votes cast for the vacant position of Membership Chair for the 2009/10 Team. I cannot remember when we last had a ballot for a District Officer so this may be a first. Another first may also be this picture, where you see the officials from the District just about to commence the count at Alan Thomas' house in Cowbridge. Scrutineers David Wiltshire and Colin Morgan are also pictured with the pile of ballot returns on the table. I was told to touch nothing on the table until the count had been completed - on pain of some awful deed. A general rule is that no numbers are published so they remain confidential. Bob Lewis came out with the most votes so he will become Chair of Membership in 2009/10. Congratulations to Bob and commiserations to David Curtis. Thanks are due to the three PDGs who conducted the count in a very professional manner. We now have just one vacancy to fill, the AG for Z1 North, to complete the Team for 2009/10. In seven days time we start our journey to San Diego for the International Assembly, so life is about to get even more interesting.
