Three of Bruce's house guests had to leave early this morning to catch the bus back to Montreal, so we got up to say goodbye and the house quietened down a little. It was a wet day and whilst Bruce was taking the folks to the bus, Dorothy took Edwina to the islands community centre to deal with some local domestic tasks. I wrestled with a slow Internet connection to look at my emails. One was from the VIA rail company, whose train was to take us back to the airport on Tuesday. The workers had announced strike action starting on Monday if they did not reach an agreement by then on a wage issue - just like being at home. The VIA website said that if the strike took place our train would not run (there are only four trains a day) so I called them and moved our booking to an earlier train that was due to run. Bruce and Dorothy returned and they took us on a tour of the island, dropping in to see some friends for a coffee and beer.
We were going to see a play, 'Blood Brothers', at the theatre in Gananoque during the evening, so we set off early to get something to eat beforehand. It was more a musical than a play and the company did a credible job of portraying life in and around Liverpool. Here are some pictures taken in the theatre during the interval.
