Our flight to Montreal was in the afternoon and we had agreed to meet up with Stewart and Eileen at noon, which we did. Not much to say about the seven hour flight which arrived a few minutes late. After that it took us about an hour and three-quarters to get to a taxi. We just queued on a seemingly endless line snaking up to the immigration desks and then queued again for a taxi. We got to the Quality Midtown hotel at 2000hrs feeling a bit shattered. No bar at the hotel meant we had to walk along by the Autoroute (or Freeway) - well, above it on a feeder road - to find a drink and something to eat.
The hotel was in an orthodox Jewish area of the city and the hotel was run by a Jewish family, all very interesting. It was close to the Montreal Memorial Centre for the Holocaust. When we got to bed it was the equivalent of four in the morning so we were well and truly tired out
