9th December - Tenby Club's Annual Carol Concert
Wednesday evening we drove down to Tenby to attend the Tenby club's annual Carol Concert. This was a particularly poignant event following the loss of Don, because he used to be the main organiser for this event each year. They had programmed the readings from the Nine Lessons interspersed with traditional carols and I had the job of reading the ninth lesson. Sight reading is not my strong point so I had to do some practising and also get the text large enough for me to see at a glance. It seemed to go OK. We stayed on for mulled wine and mince pies afterwards, albeit we had to evict the local handbell ringers, with their beautiful boxed sets of hand bells, from the church hall. Local clubs were well represented as well as Inner Wheel with their District Chair, Toni, and it was an entirely pleasant evening.

Bob, you are too modest (never thought I would ever say that!!). Reading the Ninth Lesson is one of the most challenging things you have done, and I'm sure the organisers did not realise this when they asked you. You made a really good job of it, and I felt very proud of you. xxx
