Sunday morning the weather was fine and the annual International Committee Sponsored Walk for the Newport club took place on the Gwent Levels based on the Rose Inn at Redwick, a very pleasant ancient Inn. We strolled along the lanes and up to the foreshore, where the tide was about half way up to the flood, so there was time to pause and watch the wildlife scurrying and dipping into the mud for food. We are all getting a little older and stiffer in the joints so the planned four miles was just about enough for us. President Mike was able to give his new knee a test run, which seemed to come though unscathed. Being a DG means that you do not get to your own club very often during the year so I had a great opportunity to catch up with what's been happening. I spent so much time chatting that I forgot to take any pictures during the walk. Here are some shots of the Rose inside and out together with a shot of the church, which is literally across the road.
