40 - Official Visit Cardiff Bay 18/8/09

Tuesday was a busy day all round. I had a Thanks for Life meeting at Briton Ferry in the morning, followed by a quick dash back to Newport to attend my own club for lunch - first time as a normal member this Rotary year - and on to Cardiff Bay in the evening. All of this wrapped around our weekly duty of looking after grandson Sebastien. I suppose over the years I have met most of the Cardiff Bay members so it was like meeting up with old friends again. Of course, a few members have duties at District level as well. You can imagine that there was a lot of banter and fun running through the evening which was really great. This club draws in a lot of funds from the car parking scheme they have in Cardiff which allows them to give wide support to their local community. Here you see me with President Gerry and a general view of the room. Good victuals and a convivial atmosphere helped along by a slug of firewater from Romania served up by DGN Mike.
