26th June Cwmbran Vale Handover Dinner
Edwina and me were the guests of the Cwmbran Vale club on the occasion of their Handover, held at the Commodore Hotel, Cwmbran on 26th June 2009. A very relaxed and enjoyable evening. We even bumped into friends and ex-colleagues of Edwina's, who were having a 'Last Supper' (retirement do) in one of the other function rooms.
President Geoff handed out a PHF and passed on a Foundation Certificate to the Rotarians responsible for the Christmas pudding sale. They raised £16,000 this year for, mine clearance, which the UN will match with another £16,000, a really superb effort. Then came the installation of Stuart Hamilton as President. This completed a really enjoyable evening with good food, good company and, not forgetting, an amusing MC.
