We started the day at the third plenary session. This time we had unnecessary introductions and parades of Foundation Trustees and the Chair. I am a committed Foundation supporter but I would rather listen to another speaker than have this ego demonstration, but I guess this will never change. We heard about the work of the Foundation from the Chair, an address by the recipient of the Alumni Service to Humanity award, the President of Heifer International, an inspirational polio update from the WHO and an address by Queen Noor on prospects for peace in the 21st Century. This was a useful and interesting morning. A dash back to the Palais des Congres on foot amongst 15,000 others meant that I lost sight of Edwina so mobile phones had to come into play. We had another packed lunch in the House of Friendship, used the Internet Cafe and had another look round before I went off to the Foundation update in the afternoon. Edwina returned to the Hyatt where I joined her later.
We had a quick bite to eat in the food outlets under the Hyatt before stocking up with booze and nibbles for another mass RIBI reunion, this time at Carol and John's Apartment Hotel. Good company with lots of fun made the evening go quickly and the booze also helped with this.
